In exercise of the powers vested in the President of the Republic of Uganda by Section 26 of the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act 2001 as amended, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on 14th November 2016 appointed a Visitation Committee of Inquiry into the affairs of Makerere University.
