Makerere University has today Monday, 15th January 2018 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kyungpook National University (KNU), Daegu, Korea to facilitate staff and student exchanges, research collaboration as well as coming up with joint education programmes in the field of Information Technology (IT). The Vice Chancellor-Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe signed the MoU on behalf of Makerere University, while the Vice Dean, School of Computer Science and Engineering-Prof.

In 2017, the Leadership placed the management of the Makerere University Health Services under the College of Health Sciences (CHS). This decision coincided with works being undertaken by the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Makerere University as compensation for the land annexed during expansion of Makerere Hill Road.

The College of Computing and Information Sciences (CoCIS), Makerere University through its Centre for Innovations and Professional Skills Department (CiPSD) conducted a one-week ICT skills training workshop from the 11th – 15th Dec 2017. The training was part of the College’s community outreach initiative to give back to the Makerere University community. The overall main objective of the training was to impart ICT skills to the youth of Uganda and empower them to realize the potential of ICT in unlocking their career paths for the future.
